From our inception, ILA Penthouse has been a leader in sustainable, eco-friendly event design & production.
Our mission is to reduce the amount of garbage the event industry creates, and to change the way planners and designers approach their events by re-defining eco-luxury.
Consious Consumption
We do not allow plastic, mylar, vinyl, or balloons in our space. We will source eco-friendly options that can be composted or re-used. Our aim is to eliminate unnecessary waste. Tables, chairs, tablecloths, flatware, silverware, glassware, decor and florals are all available in-house and most come with your rental.
Food Sourcing
We use local, organic, biodynamic food wherever possible and do not over-order so we have less food waste. We have plans to create a vegetable & herb garden on the ILA Penthouse rooftop.
Composting
We take our garbage very seriously. Everything must be composted or cleaned for reuse since most "recycling" is not really recyclable. We work closely with our staff and waste vendors to ensure the most efficient and cleanest waste possible. It's an essential part of our production workflow.
Education
Informing the consumer about their impact is beneficial in stopping the waste cycle. We are proud to be a sustainable venue that has changed the way people approach events, as well as their daily lives and businesses.

Being home to the famed FlowerSchool NY, ILA shares it's vision and passion with all who enter our space.

Low Waste Venue: We only use compostable and recyclable materials that we ensure are disposed of properly. Single use materials are reused at future events or donated.

Food Practices: Sourcing fresh, seasonal produce from local farms and featuring vegetarian items helps limit the carbon footprint produced by the meat industry.

Efficiency: We choose creativity over convenience by reusing our in-house supplies and supporting vendors with low carbon footprints and sustainability agendas.

Sourcing: Fair trade sustainable wholesalers and farms are our go-to vendors. Knowing where and how goods are grown is essential for maintaining a sustainable practice.
